Low Back Pain

Do you know someone with low back pain? *At any given time there are 31 million Americans that experience low back pain. That is just the lower back not including neck and mid-back pain. Just think of all the Americans with neck and mid-back pain also.

So what is the cause of low back pain, or any back pain for that matter? There are many factors that can contribute to back pain. Stress and trauma are two of the most common contributors. Stress on muscles and joints, from activities such as sports, or other activities of daily living as well as mental stress can cause misalignments of the spine. Car wrecks, slips, falls and even repetitive motions are some of the traumas that can cause misalignments.

Do you know someone with low back pain? If so let them know they can call to schedule a free consultation anytime to see if chiropractic is right for them. Call (918) 494-0929.

Disc Injury

I get a lot of questions about disc injury from patients and friends and I thought I would take a moment to share some answers.

Most people are familiar with a disc injury that can occur from a single incident like lifting a heavy object or a car wreck. Sometimes disc injuries can happen over time. For example, if there is a misalignment of the spine micro tears and trauma can occur over time to a disc. That is why it is important to stay in alignment and recieve regular chiropractic check-ups.

Chiropractic care is fantastic for relieving aches and pains, but it is also great for prevention of future problems. Chiropractic care can be a lot like going to the dentist to have your teeth checked and cleaned on a regular basis. Prevention of disc injury is always better than rehab and recovery.

If you or a loved one have a suspected disc problem be sure to let us know so we can get you the appropriate care and possibly prevent further damage.

-The disc in your spine are composed of 80% water. Getting regular chiropractic adjustments and staying well hydrated (drinking plenty of water) can help decrease your risk of disc injury!

Have a wonderful day! God Bless.
